4 Bedroom House in Aquinnah
Architect-Designed Aquinnah Home with Sweeping Ocean Views
Our house sits at the end of a quiet dirt-road driveway in Aquinnah. The beaches are nearby and at the end of the day everyone seems to find their way back to the light-drenched living room to watch the sunset.
The house was designed by an architect to make the most of this remarkable setting, especially its light. The living room has three walls of windows, including an entire west-facing wall overlooking the water. The main living space—encompassing living room, kitchen, and dining area—is open and airy, with high ceilings. The kitchen was completely renovated in 2026, while the rest of the house has a clean, modern feel with mid-century furnishings. The sun sets directly over the Sound, and the sunsets from the house are unforgettable.
Sleeping Arrangements
The house comfortably sleeps nine, with additional loft space that works well for two young children.
On the first floor are two queen bedrooms that share a full bathroom.
The lower level has a king bedroom and a bunk room with one full bed, one twin bunk and an additional twin bed. There are two full bathrooms on this level—one off the hallway and one en suite to the bunk room.
Upstairs, a loft has a twin daybed alongside a cozy TV and lounge area, with additional play space for young children.
The house is air-conditioned throughout with mini-split systems.
Beaches
One of the pleasures of staying in Aquinnah is having several very different beaches close by.
Lobsterville Beach is about a mile from the house, an easy walk or bike ride along quiet Aquinnah roads. It’s a peaceful, calm-water beach and one we return to again and again. We also provide a parking pass if you’d rather drive.
Nearby Red Beach sits on Menemsha Pond. Its protected, gentle water makes it an especially good choice for families with young children, and it is also accessible with the parking pass.
About three miles away is Philbin Beach, the private Aquinnah town beach adjacent to the Cliffs. It’s our favorite and (in our admittedly biased opinion) may be the most beautiful beach on the island. Guests are eligible to purchase a Philbin Beach pass with the rental.
We provide beach chairs, umbrellas and beach towels, so there’s no need to bring those from home.
Around the House & Up-Island
The wraparound deck has outdoor seating and a gas grill. And then there’s the outdoor shower—one of the great pleasures of a Vineyard summer and particularly welcome after a sandy day at the beach.
The property is professionally treated for ticks on a regular schedule.
The Aquinnah Lighthouse and Cliffs are just up the road and well worth a visit. Next to the lighthouse are a handful of small shops, a coffee shop, and a lobster shack, where you can pick up a lobster roll or sandwich—followed by a soft-serve cone.
Mostly, though, this is a place for slowing down. Walk or bike to the beach in the morning, explore the island when the mood strikes, and come back west at the end of the day. Aquinnah is quieter, wilder and a little farther removed from everything—and that is precisely why we love it.
